"The Promises of God"

The Bible is filled with promises...promises where our gracious God has said that He will meet all our "needs." He does not promise to give us everything we "want" but He will give us everything we need. I know you will agree that our #1 need is to be obedient children of God.

Our church has always had the possibility of great spiritual growth and the possibility to make a significant influence for God's kingdom in our community. The only factor that could hold us back is a lack of commitment on the part of our membership.

In these exciting days here at FBC we are seeing God's hand moving in powerful ways. We are taking seriously the words of Hebrews 11:6 "Without Faith it is impossible to please God..." We also are seeing the wonderful results that follow those who seek God in personal maturity and personal stewardship.

Now I want to introduce a "promise" in God's Word that will be our guiding light for 2007 and beyond. "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place." (2 Corinthians 2:14) Would this coming year be exciting and filled with hope if only we each took this promise seriously? Can you imagine the difference it would make in your personal life, your family life, and see every activity that fills your days! Can you image how it is going to affect your church as we see it lived out in every ministry, every plan, and every leader? I trust you are ready for the journey.
